What is Local RAG?
With Local RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), the AI reads your own documents: manuals, procedures, contracts and files. You then simply ask a question, such as “What is our notice period for suppliers?”, and receive an answer with a reference to the source files. Everything stays within your environment.

Getting started
- Select Local RAG in your packageAvailable for business customers from 51 users, together with Local AI.
- We set it up for youWe configure which folders are read and start the first indexing.
- Ask your questionOpen the Assistant, select “Context Chat” and ask a question about your documents.
Tips
- The better your documents are organised and up to date, the better the answers will be.
- Start with a defined set, such as the staff handbook or quality documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Why only from 51 users?
Reading, indexing and searching large document collections requires significant computing power. That’s why Local RAG is standard in the business package from 51 users. If you have fewer users, or want all AI processing to stay fully within your own organisation, you can choose your own AI PC with Local AI and RAG, which we supply and set up at your own workplace. Your documents and questions will then never leave your office.
Can a colleague see documents via the AI that aren’t meant for them?
No. The AI only uses documents that the person asking the question has access to themselves.
